Step 7: Publish sub projects as sub-workspace within Program Workspace

You already created Program Plan by inserting the sub projects. Also you published the program plan; this step was created the Program Workspace (Project Workspace) in SharePoint.

Now you have to enable the Program Structure in SharePoint to view the hierarchical workspaces. To get this ability, you have to publish all sub projects underneath of program workspace. (If you have more than two level program structure, you have to careful on sequence of publishing process. Always parent project need to be published)

You have to choose the option “Provision the workspace as a sub-workspace of another project” and choose the Program Plan from drop down.

Steps:
  • Make sure Project Professional 2007 launched by connecting to MS Project Server 2007
  • Open Sub Project
  • On File menu -> Publish
  • We are publishing this project plan first time, so you will see the prompt regarding the workspace creation. Select create a workspace for this project option and check the option called Provision the workspace as a sub-workspace of another project

Repeat the above steps for each sub project.
