Step 4: Restore the Project Server 2007 databases to SQL Server
You have to restore the databases in SQL Server is being used for Project Server 2010. Please make sure your backup files can be accessible in Project Server 2010 SQL Server.
Steps:
- Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to instance of the SQL Server Database Engine in which your Project Server 2010 databases will reside
- On the SQL Server Management studio, click the server name to expand the server tree
Right-click Databases and then click Restored Databases
- On the Restore Database window, in the Destination for restore section, in the To Database field, type the name of the database you want to restore to (In this example, giving the new name for database as ProjectServer_Upgrade_Archive)
In the To a Point in time field, select Most recent possible
In the Source for restore section, for Specify the source and location of backup to restore, click From Device, and then click the (…) button to the far right
In the Specify Backup section, from the Backup media list, select File, In the Backup location, click Add
- In the Locate Backup Files dialog box, browse to the location up Project Server 2007 database files that you want to restore

On the Restore Database page, the backed up ProjectServer2007_Litware_Archive database that you want to restore now appears. Make sure the Restore checkbox is selected, and then click OK to restore the database
- When the database restores successfully, the following message box appears
Repeat this procedure four more time to restore the four remaining databases
Note: Please make sure you granted the access to the Farm Administrator account on restore databases to manage Project Server 2010 farm.
