MS Project -> Export Gantt

    Export Project Summary and Project Gantt as Web Page

    Export Project Summary and Project Gantt to MS-Word/Power Point/Visio

    Export Project Summary and Project Gantt as Web Page (HTM,HTML)
  • View menu -> Gantt Chart
  • File -> Save As Web Page -> Choose Location to save -> Choose Save as Type “ Web Page (*.htm,*.html)
  • Click Next on Export Wizard
  • Choose "Use Exiting Map" and click Next
  • Choose "Export to HTML using Standard template" on Map Selection
  • Click -> Next -> Click "Finish" on Map options
    Open the HTML file from your selected location at step 2. You can see the Gantt Chart view as web page.

    Export Project Summary and Project Gantt to MS-Word/Power Point/Visio

  • View menu -> Toolbars -> Analysis
  • The following tool bar will be displayed on top

  • Click on Copy Picture to Office Wizard at tool bar area
  • “Welcome to the Copy Picture to Office Wizard “screen will be displayed. Click on “Next” to continue
  • Step 1 on Wizard: Specify the Outline level and click “Next”

    Note: The first step in the wizard is to decide if you want to keep your original outline level or change it to display all tasks or only summary tasks. Displaying only summary tasks will make the presentation more readable and it might be better for managers or stakeholders. To get the best format, I recommend to choose “Outline Level 2” from dropdown. Choose “Modify Outline Level “, click on “Show” and choose “Outline Level 2” from dropdown
  • Step 2 on Wizard: Specify the number of rows, you want to include, Time Scale and Image Size and click “Next”

    Note: If you have already selected rows prior to starting the wizard, then you can specify that only these rows be displayed. If you want to select different rows, you'll have to exit the wizard, select the rows you want, and then restart the wizard.

    Choose the Image size as per your needs.

    Recommended Image Formats:

    Default: Choose Default if you want a typical presentation size of about 8 inches high and 6 inches wide. This will be better size for a Visio or PowerPoint presentation.

    Choose Maximum if you want a large image that, for example, you will print out. The maximum size is 22 inches.

    Choose Custom if you are using MS Word
  • Step 3 on Wizard: Select the application, Orientation and click “Preview” Once you satisfy with exported layout, click on “Next”

  • Step 4 on Wizard: Select the required columns and click “Finish”
  • Last step on Wizard: Click on "Close" on next screen; this step will open with the image of your Gantt chart on the application you chosen.
