Standard steps to manage the project by using MS project
- Create new enterprise project by using MS Project
- Add resources to the project plan (use Enterprise Resource Pool or Shared File)
- Enter the tasks in chronological order
- Classify tasks in to modules or phases (Define Summary Tasks)
- Define dependency on applicable tasks as necessary (Linking Tasks)
- Assign the work for each task
- Assign resources to tasks (Create Assignments)
- Baseline project plan
- Collaborating the project schedules with resources
- On regular basis, update the project progress
- Review project performance with baseline
- Measure earned value and take any required actions
- Save project as template on project completion
